Third Shivan

Here is another Shivan figure from Blue Moon, joining the two I painted a while ago. The rifle was very thin and musket-like, so I built up one more to my liking from plastic card.
Lots of movement in these sculpts, I've grown to appreciate them more and more.

  1. Nice conversion. I must admit that the "space muskets" have put me off finishing my Shivans, but you have inspired me.

    1. Cheers david, a tiny of filing and you can treat the original weapon as a receiver+stock, and glue your own weapon on top :)

  2. Very nice, looks like a heavy gun of some sorts.

    1. Cheers Wouter, 15mm gives one a lot of leeway for converting!

  3. I mostly like the colours you used on these ladies. The bright primary skin with the earth toned clothes just works.

    1. I was inspired by the Andorians from the Enterprise TV series, and once you've gone with blue skin it gets tricky fast! Mind you, my limited selection of paint has a lot to do with this as well. Lastly, once you start using brown, minis start looking more like space-western or smuggler types... Which is exactly what I want :)

    2. Ah. Yeah these fit into that kind of setting pretty well, I think the trenchcoats help.

  5. Ugh, I want blocky blasters. Not 'space muskets' as astutely noted above.

Turns out I do have these figs so I probably have those other Blue Moon ones as well.

    1. If memory serves, you inherited ALL the 15mm figs! Blocky blasters are the best kind.
