Loud Ninja Space Raptor

I've been painting a lot, but still not really blogging. Instagram has basically replaced it for me I think. However, a bag of kickstarted space raptors arrived last week, and I used my last base to see how one paints up. Very nicely! Tons of detail, but defined enough that its pretty easy to get a brush on. Well done, LNG!

  1. White usually fits well into "clean high tech sci-fi", something I wouldn't expect from space reptiles and still it works here. I bet you nailed it choosing a muted olive green instead of something bright. Nice yllow fur/feathers. I know for shure I'd paint mine orange...

Thanks for posting, not everyone who enjoy the stuf you produce have instagram tho.

  2. Another remarkable show SJ! As Javi pointed out, not an obvious colour scheme, yet all the better for it! Shame about the transfer to Instagram though........

  3. Yeah, the Instagram switch is a real shame.
I've always liked your work and even got some inspiration for my own miniatures.

Nice colour scheme on the raptor by the way!

  4. Lovely work. Nice choice of colours too. I have posted about this on the 15mm.co.uk blog: http://15mmcouk.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/tiny-solitary-soldiers-paints-up-space.html

I hope you decide to at least 'copy paste' your Instagram material to Blogger. I like to read your blogger blog.

  5. Looks fantastic and the colour of the skin contrasts well with the armour.

  6. Yeah, missing the frequent updates. I'll have to find out what Instagram is, but if it is anything to do with phones, I can't cope with that in my Luddite world view!

  7. Another vote for "cool dino!". Thanks for posting this, you painted it well as always and gave us good pics so I know for sure I want a set of these ;)

  8. Some of the cool kids on the block have an Instagram feed on their blog, so viewers can have their cake and eat it too. ;)

    1. I took it off when I started posting non-minis stuff on IG. May have to split the feeds somehow, tiresome as that will be.

  9. Thanks for the comments everyone! The main reason I prefer Instagram right now is that I don't have internet at home. This means using my phone for anything web related. Blogger is an abysmal platform for mobile use... I can't even reply to comments with any reliability (freezes up 75% of the time) and these posts are sent in via email, which automatically places the photo on the left. Grr.
Anyway, due to popular demand, I will continue making emailed-in posts here on the blog. maybe later in the year when I move, more verbose posts will continue.
    Thanks again, readers!

Amen to that. I installed the app on my tablet, and basically it's good for "blogging" your unedited photos and a bunch of text, in crappy formatting. Which is great if you're a parenting blogger telling everyone about little Jimmy's latest BM, but not so good for hobby stuff :(
