Old Stuff- Blood Bowl

Time warp!
Dug out of storage, here is my old 90's Blood Bowl team, the Charnel Valley Crushers.
At the time I was managing a GW store in Australia (I only lasted a year or so) and these guys saw a lot of action, even making it into Australian White Dwarf. I had just hired a promising young fella named Dave Taylor, who you may have heard of... Needless to say, we played a LOT of Blood Bowl in those days. Good times.

    1. Old-school Plastik Ork heads! Those are old ork power claws too. I used to have an Ork/orc force for all GW systems. Sigh. I kind of miss them.

  2. Oh my goodness, I remember those days fondly. It's a wonder I ever graduated from uni, with all the games that the Black Gulf Buccaneers played! This team definitely inspired a lot of Orky goodness even years later.

    Cheers
    Dave

    1. It really was a great time that I have only good memories of also. Maybe not a very profitable era for the store, but we sure had a lot of fun and played a lot of Blood Bowl!

  3. There's a blast from the past for me- I only ever played Blood Bowl once, then the box disappeared into my son's bedroom never to be seen since....and he moved out some time ago!

    1. It's easily my most-played GW game ever. And I played all of them (even "Kerrunch" and the dreadful Man 'o War) until about 2000.

  4. Great looking team. Man O war was great!

  5. Thanks! I guess man 'o war just wasn't for me. I also had to demo it to kids over and over, which got very boring.

  6. Blood Bowl is still (together with Mordheim and Gorka Morka) one of my favorite GW games. I even started an elven team, after playing the computer game, just over a year ago. Never played with them however as my former opponents weren't really waiting for a BB revival.
    Thanks for posting these up!

    1. I rate Necro over Mordheim, and Gorka was some good silly fun too. Warband or team sized games are more my speed than armies.

  7. Now that is old school right down to the green bases and the one-fist-up, one-fist-down poses! I had a copy of Blood Bowl in high school but I think all the components (including a genuine three-part styrofoam Astrogranite pitch, I understand those were not always included) disappeared from my parents' house some time while I was in undergrad :(

    1. I've owned every edition of Blood bowl at some point. The first was unplayably bad, the astrogranite pitch was second edition I think, as was the Dungeonbowl expansion (weird but not that great). This team is from 3rd edition era, which was a huge improvement at the time. I wish I knew what happened to my old stryene pitch.. That thing was awesome.
