Because of this, they are quite fast to paint, if a little fiddly. I went with an anime inspired look rather than the dark tones on the manufacturer's website. They have inspired me to pick up some new paints.. I think my limited collection is a little drab.
The detail is what I'd call "subtle" on these. It is extremely well done, but it is my opinion that chunkier models translate better both to the paintbrush and the gaming table. Nevertheless, I really like them. They have a multitude of uses for almost any sci-fi setting.
Thanks for looking!

These look really great. I like the colors you went with! The style of these, and some of the others, are very unique and well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mr. Harold! I'm going to try to make these all look as different as possible.
DeleteVery nice. I like your color choices as well.
ReplyDeleteCheers DFS!
Delete^What they said.
ReplyDeleteBest,
JBR
Thank you sir! I'm inspired to press on!
DeleteVery nice mate, Nice colour choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brummie, individual figure schemes are the cure for unit-itis!
DeleteThese are excellent, SJ- nice delicate graduation of shading, very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gunrunner... It's all about keeping the paint thin!
DeleteVery nice, I really like the grey/violet scheme!
ReplyDeleteThanksDis! I had to mix the pink shoulder pad color myself out of red and white.. Off to the paint shop tomorrow I think!
DeleteWow, very Evangelion. I like your choice of colors and it inspires me to paint mine. I was thinking about GHOST in the shell.
ReplyDeleteIncredible how clear your pictures are. Whenever I try to photograph my 15mm mini's they always turn up blury.
Thank you very much Wouter!
DeleteThis photo was actually taken with my iPhone 4s... It helps to use a 3rd party app. I use Camera +. Normally I use a Canon s95, but I can't find the charger at the moment.
I don't know why Rebel has them painted so dark on their website. IMO It doesn't sell the figures as well as a brighter paint job would... mainly because you can actually SEE them this way! Great work as always :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Allison! A lot of Rebel's early figures were painted in a fairly rough style. Jason Moore (of Micropanzer) has been doing a lot of their more recent releases though, and they are looking great!
DeleteSo slim and yet so nicely adorned.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jay! The trick is to treat them with great care. Any blobs of paint are going to clog the sculpts. Lovely minis.
DeleteOutstanding color schemes. Really brings out the details. A unit of these, painted in individual schemes, would really catch the eye on the tabletop. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Raymond! I'm waiting for the texture gel on the base to dry right now, bit I have an exciting color scheme worked out for the next one already!
DeleteThese look really good, and really like the colour scheme of these.
ReplyDeleteMust admit, that scheme brings out the detail in them more than the one on the website, might consider getting some.
Very glad to hear it Ace, thanks buddy!
