Armies Army Rusk Trooper

Blogger destroyed my original post about this mini (my own fault for dabbling in the terrible dynamic view layout) and I can't remember what it said, so here's a photo of one of the new Armies Army minis!

I painted him in a simple 2 color scheme that took me ages to decide on. It's VMC Khaki, with black fatigues highlighted up with citadel adeptus battlegrey.

The eyepiece is made of pro-create, as I accidentally scraped off his original eye when cleaning the figure.. Oops!

  1. I tell you what, Jacker, you have some timing and no mistake. I switch on the laptop to post my pictures of Armies Army Minis, and you've beaten me to the drop by an hour. And they are much better than mine. And the photography is better. I'm going back to the camera now to have another go. Oh, by the way, they are really good, darn you!

  2. Great job! That was a fortunate accident with the eyepiece, but really, it was your skill with the Pro-create that made it a plus.

    1. Thanks Joe!
      My sculpting secrets:
1-Pro-create is easier to use than greenstuff
2-I use a pin bashed flat into a paddle shape and a rubber smoother.
3-I set a very very very low threshold of difficulty.. Aim low! :)

  8. They're looking really good so they are. And I actually like the eyepiece so I do, so maybe it was slightly fortuitous. I've done it myself, especially on Infinity figures with the "Is this flash or a tiny aerial?"

  9. Looks great, love the glowing eye especially and I'll chime in with the others on the happy accident with the augmented eyepiece. Kudos!

    1. The eye is: Black socket. Blob of VMC orange red, tiny highlight of VMC flat yellow (cadmium yellow sort of color).. That's it. I'm doing it all over the place now to the point of overuse ;)
