Now I'm in trouble...

 The Abyss of 15mm fantasy!
OHNOES!!!

I just ordered the new 15mm barbarians from Copplestone castings. This means I will have to order some Blood Dawn Orcs now. And some Demonworld figures. Argh.

At least it will stop me trying to play SOBH with lego. I know. Don't ask.

  1. Don't shelve the Lego! Fantasy SoBH sounds awesome in brick!

  2. I hate when some purchases suck you downward into a shopping spiral. In fact I love it, I just hate to spend money like crazy (boardgames, videogames, music, books...)

I still remember when micro machines released ALIENS toys... bought some, repainted them... then I had to have some 25mm marines so purchased Denizen's... then more micromachines (predator ones). I'm glad they stopped producing those otherwise I could have turned into a hobo by nowadays!

Anyhow, didn't know copplestone made 15 mm barbarians (just checked) last time I looked he was only offering 10mm. BTW Mark is a remarkable (no pun intended, or did I) sculptor.

Can't wait to see those, no matter they're painted or not.

  3. Khurasan closing up for summer put a stop to my plan for getting some 15mm fantasy.. but I'm sure it's just a temporary set back.

Lego can be fun! I played a big game with a friend using his star wars lego collection and my foam from some bookshelves' packaging (so even the snow was 'brick') for an epic battle on Hoth using the Brickwars rules: great fun!

Looking forward to seeing the direction you take with 15mm fantasy!

  4. Those Barbarians are very cool, can't wait to see what you do with them. I already have a few 15mm fantasy armies, but theres always room for more.

  5. I know, I know. But how can you resist those amazing new sculpts? I'm a huge Copplestone fan already. I'd planned to do 15mm Hyborian skirmish games (focused on Cimmerians, Vanir, Aesir and Picts) anyway, and this release pushed me WAY over the top on the project.

Where, or where, are you planning to buy Demonworld figures? Are they for sale again somewhere?

  6. Oh, and have you checked out Splintered Light? GREAT fantasy stuff in there, as well as two nice packs of 15mm sci-fi starship crew figures. Their historicals, especially the characters, will work nicely alongside these Barbarians, I think. Haven't compared their scale in person though...

  7. Brother Joseph- Song Of Blades and Heroes. It's a really good, inexpensive, fast but elegant system for fantasy skirmish gaming in 15mm. They have adapted it to other periods as well, but I think the system works best for fantasy.

CC- Ral Partha Europe have picked up the Demonworld figures. They are releasing them gradually but the pack sizes are very purchasable, especially for SOBH skirmish sized forces (and lets face it, I'm never going to do an actual army).

  10. The Abyss is a beautiful thing!

I don't know if you know, but how does the Copplestone barbarians match up to the Demonwold Thain size-wise?
